
Ingrid Emerick
Ingrid Emerick, workshop instructor, has been in book publishing for nearly fifteen years. She worked at Seal Press (now an imprint of Avalon Publishing Group) for twelve of those years. During her tenure at the press she held a range of positions, most recently Associate Publisher and Editorial Director.
She is the co-editor of two published books of travel essays, Gifts of the Wild: A Woman’s Book of Adventure (Seal Press, 1998) and A Woman Alone: Travel Tales from Around the Globe (Seal Press, 2001). She is currently at work on a new collection of women’s travel writing entitled, Go Your Own Way due out from Seal/Avalon in May of 2007. Her own writing has appeared in A Woman Alone and on HipMama.com. She works as a freelance editor, writing coach, and book doctor as well as teaching an advanced editing course at the University of Washington.
Whether battling crazed cows in the Andes, trudging the muddy hills of Connemara or choking down Unicum in Budapest, Ingrid is an addicted traveler both on her own and in the company of others. She lives with her husband and two children in Seattle.
