The Tuareg follow an invisible path, navigating by wind and stars. Their chatter and laughter, shrouded by the chèches, season the endless days of walking. After bartering for salt at an oasis, the blue men of the desert head back south — perhaps as far as Nigeria, the source of indigo — trading salt along the way.
